A seasoned leader in both executive and policy roles, Albert Black’s professional experience and capabilities have delivered improvements in the lives of children at state and local levels. For the past 35 years, he has participated in educational management, strategic organizational planning, and he has been instrumental in the implementation of Faith Based Initiatives and in the efforts of promoting Healthy Marriages/Responsible Relationships throughout Travis County and other surrounding areas. Black is a proactive administrator, recognized for motivational leadership, cohesive team building and solid results-oriented approaches.
His emphasis on community, education and opportunity lead Black to a career in early childhood education. As Executive Director of Child Inc-Head Start, Black has a direct impact on a two generational approach for improving the lives of low-income young children and their families in a safe and nurturing environment. Serving over 1800 families across Travis County he understands the importance of early interventions and the significance of ready for school by age five. Under his leadership the agency has improved performance measures, increased Center capacity and forged strategic relationships with area school districts and businesses.
